Katelyn's 1st Birthday

We had a very small party for Katelyn on her first birthday.  Jeffrey and Brooke, and Kimberly came over for pizza, presents, and cake and ice cream.  We were also able to Skype with my parents and Spencer in Japan so they could be part of the celebration.  On a side note, right before Halloween our camera broke and so we are now stuck with using our old one which sadly means I have been very bad at taking pictures because I don't like to use our old one.

Eating pizza.  After moving into our new house we realized how tiny the table we got when we were in college really was.  It looks like toy furniture and there is no room for people to sit down.  Don't worry, we have a new to us table now so we can actually have people over every once in a while.

Katelyn decided that eating the presents was much more exciting than opening them.  Especially after the first one she opened had candy in it!

Emma was more than happy to step in and help her open a few.

 Here she is sporting her new pjs from Japan and giving Gam and Papa some love via iPhone. (also this is the best picture we have of Kimberly.  She got her tonsils out a few days before so she wasn't really up to being in alot of pictures.)

It is hard to really capture how excited she got when we started singing happy birthday to her but I think the picture above does a pretty good job.  We may have sang it a few times just because her reaction was so great!

 This little girl is no stranger to messes or to sweets so I was pretty shocked when she was nervous about her cupcake at first.  Don't worry, she figured it out eventually and loved it.

 We love Katelyn so much and had a great time celebrating her birthday, even if it was just with a small party and I once again neglected to get a picture of the birthday girl with her parents, maybe our next baby will be the one lucky enough to get one.
