Birthday Celebrations

We had fun celebrating Emma's birthday a few times throughout the week.  She was a little confused that some of the parties were not on her actual birthday and by the last one thought that she had already turned four because it was her birthday again.  She had a lot of fun being the center of attention!

The Sunday before her birthday we had my siblings over to celebrate Emma and Kimberly's birthday. We just had dinner, opened presents, and had cake and ice cream.  Emma LOVES being the oldest grandchild/niece on my side of the family, she gets lots and lots of love. Tally was there too but we didn't get a picture of him because he had to run to the airport for a business trip.

Emma woke up to balloons in her room again on her birthday and thought it was pretty cool.  She also loved the birthday decorations that were up through the house, especially her birthday chair.  She requested eggs, toast, and cereal for her birthday breakfast, hot dogs for lunch, and macaroni and cheese for dinner.  Such healthy favorites she has!

Later that night we were able to FaceTime with my family in Japan while she opened her presents from them.  After that, Todd's parents came over to sing and have cake and ice cream.  She loved opening all of her gifts and has decided that since they are hers she doesn't have to share any of them.

Emma was also happy to get matching Japanese pjs from Gam and Papa.  Katelyn got hers for her birthday and Emma was excited to get the same.  They are becoming pretty good friends!

We also got to have a little birthday party with two of Emma's friends.  For the last few months, since she started really understanding what a birthday is, she had requested to have Jer and Remi come over for Costco pizza and cupcakes. So, that is what we did!  Such an easy girl to please.  Emma and Remi had fun dressing up like princesses for her princess party and didn't even fight over which dress they got to wear this time, which really is a small miracle.

So I saw this idea on pinterest to fill up balloons with prizes and candy and have the kids pop them instead of having a pinata.  So I got it all ready and then realized that maybe the 2 and 3 year olds would be afraid of popping balloons right in their face.  So mostly the moms had to pop the balloons while the kids just picked up their prizes.  It sounded like a really good idea in my head though.

Thanks to everyone who helped celebrate Emma's big day!  She already can't wait until her next birthday!

Emma looks so happy. How did you get her to wear a brown sweater?! There's no way Lucy would wear that on her big day. The new house looks really nice--I want to see more pictures!
