Christmas Dance Recitals

Emma and Katelyn were so excited for their Christmas dance recitals this year.  They had three this time and they both loved getting all dressed up and wearing their costumes for each of them!  Emma had really been hoping for a red costume so we were both relieved to see that is what her teacher ordered for her class! Katelyn's costume could not have been a better first recital costume for her if we tried.  She LOVED how big and fluffy it was!

Their first recital was more of a dress rehearsal than a recital.  It was just held at their studio and they only had 3-4 dances perform at a time. We didn't really get any good pictures of them actually dancing at any of their recitals but I am going to put them up here anyway!

Emma could not have been more proud of Katelyn.  They were so sweet to watch together!

Their next recital was a performance at the Dickens Festival.  This is not my favorite recital that they do but it was a very eventful one for us! Right as we had all piled in the car we realized that my battery was dead.  After several failed attempts at jumping my car (turns out our jumper cables are bad) we had to squish everyone into Todd's car to try and get there on time.  It was hard to do with their poofy costumes!

Emma went first and did great.  Katelyn came on second and had quite the traumatic experience.  She needed to go potty right as they were walking on the stage but her teacher told her to just wait until the dance was over.  Well she stood like this on the stage, with her knees together crying the entire time and right as the dance was over left a nice puddle on the floor for someone to clean up.  Poor girl.  Just look at how sad her face is!

The last recital was their big winter recital at the highschool.  Emma and Katelyn were both thrilled to have their fan club come watch them and loved that they could hear us yell their names to them from the audience. And from now for the rest of the pictures taken with my camera in December there is a fingerprint smudge on our lens making for some really blurry pictures.  Bummer.

It was a fun recital season!  The girls were thrilled with their medals and cant wait until the spring when they have more recitals!
