Jackson Hole

At the beginning of July we went to Jackson Hole with my family.  It was fun as always, although a little more work with three kids this time.

My family went up Monday but we stayed home for Todd to work and because Katelyn and I weren't feeling very well the day before.  I spent most of Monday cuddling with Miley in bed while Emma and Katelyn were with Todd's parents.  It turns out I had a pretty nasty kidney infection and had to go to the ER Monday night.

We got to Jackson Hole late Tuesday night after probably the worst drive I have ever had on a vacation.  We were tempted to turn around and go home half way there.  The next day everyone went to hike at Jenny Lake while Miley and I stayed back and the cabin and relaxed. She was only 3 weeks old at the time so we thought she should skip the hike, or maybe it was just me who wanted to skip it.  Emma and Katelyn were pretty tired from staying up late the night before so they didn't really love it so much.  Except for the ferry ride, Emma loved that.  Unless you ask her about it, then she will tell you it was no fun.

In the past, when we have gone to Jackson we have brought our boat and spend most of our time skiing. We sold our boat so we couldn't do that this year.  One day we rented kayaks and a little motor boat to play around the lake in.

Doesn't Katelyn look like she could be their daughter? Oh, wait...

Katelyn fell asleep out on the boat so we made up this little bed for her, she was not happy when she woke up.

I loved this picture of the girls taking a nap, they both look so little in those big beds!

Miley spent most of her time sleeping on this vacation, as most three week old babies would do!

Katelyn loves to play with Jeffrey, and all of her uncles really, she is much more friendly to men than her older sister is.

Playing Catch Phrase while we were waiting for everyone to be ready.
We always go eat at the diner at one of the lodges and then walk around after.  It is so pretty there!  Emma and Katelyn had a great time this night running around and trying out new tricks after watching Uncle Tally do his amazing cart-wheels!

Every night after we put Emma and Katelyn to bed we would go to my parents cabin and talk and play games, one of my favorite things to do!  Miley was able to join us and was really happy about it.

On the last day we went into the city and looked around some of the shops.  You know we had to take the traditional Jackson Hole pictures too.

Leaving our cabins

Jeffrey was clearly not thrilled that Katelyn stole his sucker
After we walked around town we went to the ski resort to do the alpine slide.  This was Emma's first time on one and you can tell she was thrilled about it!

My mom took this picture of the picture that she was supposed to buy.  Just look at Emma's face and try not to smile.
After the slide we packed up and headed home. It is always sad for a trip to end.  We had a great time so thanks again, Mom and Dad!

I will leave you with a little view of the back of our car.  Please note how tired Katelyn was.  This was about 2 minutes after we started driving.

One day she will love me for posting this picture.
