Sun Valley

This year for our Ringwood summer vacation we went to Sun Valley, Idaho.  We had the best time! It was a good vacation for my kids because there were alot of outdoors things to do but the weather wasn't sooo hot and it wasn't too bright outside so they loved it.

We left around noon on Tuesday the 7th and drove to my parents house so we could follow them.  The girls did great, as usual, in the car.  They are happy as long as they can watch videos and color as much as they want.  I only took a picture of Katelyn on the way there.  We just thought it was funny that she needed to wear a fancy dress to travel.  Also, she is so little that I guess it is comfortable to sit with her legs crossed in her seat for 5 hours.

After we arrived and checked into our fun condos we went out to grab some dinner.  Todd made us take this picture quickly as we were waiting to cross the street.  It probably is one of our better recent family pictures, even if it is a selfie.

My parents had gifts for us to open that night.  They gave each family a tomagachi and a selfie stick.  Both were the best presents.  The selfie sticks got lots of use during the trip.  We get our best pictures of Katelyn when we are taking selfies. We also found lots of gems like this on our phones during the trip.

The next morning we woke up and headed to the tennis courts after breakfast.  Miley didn't sleep at all on Tuesday night and wouldn't take a nap either, so she was a little grumpy the whole day.

Todd had to save our children from getting hit by the ball a few times.

After tennis we had lunch and then my little family rode our bikes down to one of the pools to try and go swimming.  Sadly there was thunder so they closed the pool.  The girls had a good time playing at the park behind the pool though. Katelyn fell asleep on the ride back to the condo and you can tell that Miley was just being grumpy the whole day.  When we walked inside I set Miley down on the couch and came back 30 seconds later and she had finally fallen asleep.

They look really comfortable right?

We went to a pizza place for dinner that night and then walked around the Sun Valley Lodge after.  Katelyn was really into the selfie stick that night.

Todd really loves to try to photobomb people.  This was his most successful photobomb of the trip.  I love it.

Every night after the kids were in bed we all played lots of games and just had a good time being with each other.

Thursday morning Emma, Katelyn, and Todd watched a morning movie while we were waiting for everyone else to get up.  We also played a very exciting game of "Don't Eat Pete". After that, we all went swimming and then played more tennis. Emma nominated my Dad to pull the bike trailer this time because I was going too slow for her the day before.  Later in the afternoon I went on a hike with everyone while Todd stayed back at the condo and let the girls have a much needed nap.

After the hike, the boys and Brooke all went to see Jurassic World while my Mom, Abby, Kimberly, and I stayed home with the littles.

On Friday, we went to some natural hot springs that were fun.  They were all very shallow which was nice for the girls.

After the hot springs, we stopped and had lunch in all of our sulfur smelling glory.  The girls enjoyed entertaining themselves with Todd's hat while we waited for our food.

We spent the rest of the afternoon swimming and just hanging out playing games. The girls all had a great time playing with Spencer that evening before bed.  He is such a great uncle to them and is always making them laugh and having fun with them.  They all love him, especially Miley.

Saturday morning we woke up and went out to breakfast before Jeffrey, Brooke, and Graham had to leave. We got asked multiple times at this meal if our girls were triplets. After breakfast we loaded up our bikes and went for a nice long ride all around Sun Valley.  Riding a bike around for 15 miles, pulling two kids behind me while I am pregnant didn't really do much for my self esteem as it was actually really hard for me but we all still had a really good time.  Emma loved feeling like a big girl on her new bike that we got for her for the trip.

At the end of the bike ride, we stopped in town and got some ice cream.  We all were really excited about it.

We of course went swimming again after the bike ride.  Miley turned into quite the dare-devil in the pool this trip.  She loved to run and jump in the pool but she hated jumping to anyone.  Good thing we talked her into wearing floaties so I didn't have to be as stressed about her drowning.

Sunday we all went to church in one of the smallest church buildings I have ever been in.  It looked pretty big from the outside so I was shocked to see how small it really was on the inside.

After church, we had lunch and hung out around the condos for a little while and then we went for a hike.  You will notice that my girls feel the need to wear a dress, even while hiking.  After this hiking adventure Emma has decided to give hiking another try.  She had previously sworn it off after we made her go on a hike in St. George when it was really hot and sunny.  This one was much better for her, especially after she got herself a walking stick.

Emma and Katelyn put on a lovely show/dance party for us that evening.  My family is always so great to play along with them and their grand plans.

Monday morning, we had to pack up and head home.  The girls really wanted to go swimming one last time before we hopped in the car to drive home so we did that for a little bit while the rest of my family went shopping for souvenirs.

On our way out of town we grabbed a quick lunch with my family and then headed home.  It was such a great trip.  A big thanks to my Mom and Dad for planning it for us.  We had a great time being with everyone!

Yes good thing you've got this blog because you sure don't put anything on instagram anymore :)
I like how the selfie stick brought out everyone's tongues :)
Looks like a great time! I want to come next year! All that swimming and game playing is making me jealous!
