Ice Castles

On the 11th of February we headed up to Midway to go walk through the ice castles up there.  Todd got off work a little early so we could get up there before it was dark.  It was super crowded but we still had a good time.  When I say we had a good time, that means that at least of half of the family enjoyed it.  Miley fell asleep in the car on the way up so she was less than thrilled to be woken up and then walk around in the cold.  Camden was fine while we were there but since he really hates being in his car seat, he didn't appreciate the hour commute each way.

The girls were pretty excited to see Anna and Elsa at the entrance to the castles.  Emma was a little too nervous to talk to them but she did agree to be in the picture once she saw that Katelyn was going to do it.

Miley just wasn't really excited about the whole idea but she was really mad when we stopped carrying her.  She also slowly took off her gloves and hat because who needs to stay warm.

At this point, Camden was just really tired of holding his head up.
They had a fun little ice slide that Emma and Katelyn loved.  They had a bigger one too that closed down right when we got there so Emma was a little bummed about that.

We tried to get a family picture before we left which was silly, we should have done it when we first got there before everyone was tired and cold.  Also, the guy who took the picture really struggled. We get an A for effort right?

Don't we all just really love Todd's bag?

Camden was really excited to get back to the car and be free again.  Just in time to get strapped back in his car seat.  Poor boy.  He is a pretty good sport about just being lugged around from one thing to the next.  Fourth child problems.

Overall we had a great time. I really didn't want to go initially but I told Todd after that I was glad that he forced us to.  It was fun to get out of the house and do something as a family.  Emma and Katelyn are already excited to go back again next year.
