Miley is 7 months today! She has basically been a dream baby the last month. Once she started to become a little more mobile she turned into a new person.
Miley's stage of sitting up on a blanket and playing with toys was pretty short lived. She is already moving on to trying to crawl. It is pretty amusing to watch. She gets up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth. She then will move her hands out but doesn't really know what to do next so she resorts to army crawling. She is getting better every day.
Miley thinks that her sisters are the greatest things to happen to her life. She loves when they pay attention to her. She has started taking baths with them instead of in her infant bathtub and she really, really loves it. They think that it is pretty great too. She could sit and watch them dance all day long. I can't wait for her to join them.
Miley's absolute favorite thing to do is to bounce. If you have her stand up on anything she will immediately start bouncing. A lot of times people think that it is me bouncing her, until they hold her and then they realize that it really is all her. She gets so excited every time.
She likes to hold her own bottle and tries to grab the spoon from me while I am feeding her. If you are holding her and you have a cup with a straw in it she will always try to grab it. She loves to listen to the piano and tries really hard to hit the keys but tries even harder to suck on them. She, like most babies this age, loves to suck on anything she can get her hands on. Especially my jewelery.
She takes two naps during the day. The first one is usually an hour to an hour and a half and the second one is two and a half to three hours. Her longest stretch of being awake is from 3:30 till when she goes to bed around 7:30. It is pretty hard to hold her off until bed time but if she falls asleep sometime during that window, she wont go to bed until around 10. Even if it is only a 20 minute power nap. We are still working on the night sleeping. Some nights she will do so awesome and then other nights it is like we have a newborn again. We tried the whole crying it out thing and she literally cried for at least 2 hours a night for 2 weeks before we finally just gave up. She has quite the little temper so when she cries, she really cries and it wakes us all up! We know she will eventually get the hang of it though.
Miley has started to do the cutest scrunchy nose smile. I just really love it! She overall is a very happy baby. One of my favorite things about her is when she tries not to laugh. When she is being tickled or someone is doing something to make her laugh it sounds like she is trying to hold it in for the first little while until she finally just gives up and lets out a big belly laugh.
She is following her her sisters' footsteps and really loves her blanket. If you drape it over your shoulder while you are holding her she will immediately cuddle with it. She has a love-hate relationship with her binky. Sometimes she really loves it but if you try and give it to her when she is not tired or she doesn't want it, she will let you know how she feels about it, which is not great.
We just really love her more and more everyday as her little personality is starting to come through. She is the best!
