Katelyn really enjoyed her birthday this year. She had been asking when it would be her birthday everyday for about 2 months. She also decided that she was going to have a birthday party, even though we had decided that we weren't going to have friend birthday parties until our kids turned 5. She had it all planned out and even tried to hand write the invitations so we decided to let her have one this year.
A few days before her birthday, Todd came home to take her out for a birthday lunch. She chose McDonald's and couldn't have been happier. That girl's obsession with cheeseburgers is crazy.
The morning of her birthday, Emma was really excited to help get the balloons ready, and Katelyn was equally as excited that her birthday was finally here.
She came upstairs and had her breakfast of choice, cereal, and then we opened presents.
Her party started at 11:00 and that couldn't come fast enough for her. She invited her primary class as well as her cousin Hadley and her friend Molly. We think that she had a great time. Before the party, Todd's mom came over to drop off Katelyn's gift.
I wasn't too excited to be planning a party that close to having a baby so Todd took charge of all the games. I think that it was really funny watching all of the little kids trying to do some of the things he came up with.
We had pizza for lunch, made bracelets and necklaces (Brooks decorated a dinosaur instead of making jewelry) and then had cake and ice cream. (please note Katelyn's wardrobe change halfway through the party.)
That evening we took the girls to ride the Ferris Wheel at Scheels and then we went out to Zupas for dinner.
We had a great day celebrating our newest four year old!
