New Years Day Skating

On New Years Day (after as much sleeping in as possible with four little kids) we decided to go ice skating with my family.  I was a little hesitant to go since we have only ever been once before and it just seemed like a lot of work, but I am so glad that we went.  Emma and Katelyn had such a good time and they both got so good.  They were very proud of themselves and it was pretty rewarding to see them proud of their hard work.  Who knew that ice skating could do that to them?

Miley was pretty grumpy from staying up too late the night before so we opted to not have her try to skate.  She was pretty happy to sit on the side and play on our phones though.  My Dad stayed home with Camden who was napping.

Kinda blurry but it captures how excited they both were to be going by themselves!

It was so fun!  After, we went back to my parents house to play some games and just hang out.  I am sure the boys watched some type of football or basketball game on tv, too.

It was a great way to start off the new year.  The girls are already planning to go back next New Years.  Maybe they will get lucky and get to go again before that.
