Easter 2016

We had a great Easter this year! Holidays are so fun with kids. Katelyn has been waiting for Easter for a long time because candy is her favorite thing.

We started celebrating on Friday night by dyeing our eggs and decorating sugar cookies. Emma and Katelyn are getting a lot better at frosting their cookies. Miley on the other hand, spent the whole time we were frosting cookies frosting just one cookie. By the time she was done you couldn't even tell that she had started with a bunny cookie. That didn't stop her from enjoying it though! Emma and Katelyn thought it would be a good Easter activity to take the cookies that they decorated to people in our neighborhood. Emma chose to take her cookies to her piano teacher and Katelyn chose to take hers to her friend Savannah's house.

Todd was at ward basketball all night so I might have tried to do a little too much all by myself.  Poor Camden was a little neglected and also didn't think it was that great of an idea for his mom to leave him in his bouncer seat unbuckled! Whoops. Also because of the frantic nature of the night, only Katelyn was willing to participate in pictures while we were dyeing eggs. (notice her costume change from the cookies to egg dyeing that were about 10 minutes apart from each other)

The girls really enjoyed Easter morning! They had fun on their Easter hunt and loved trying on their new dresses. They had a great time at church focusing on the real reason for Easter and learning more about our Savior and his Atonement and Resurrection. Camden and I went to my cousin Madie's homecoming and had a great time there as well!

We are not sure why Katelyn decided to wear this shirt underneath her nightgown but she sure does look lovely.

This, sadly, is the only picture I took of Todd on Easter. Just know that he was there and that he is the best.

A little pre-breakfast candy.

All ready for church in their new Easter outfits. We were actually shocked that Miley wore hers. She has been wearing one of two dresses for the last three months so it was nice to be able to see her in something different.

After church, we had our Easter egg hunt where each egg had a part of the story of the Atonement, Crucifixion, and Resurrection. After that, we headed to my parents house for Easter dinner and Family Home Evening. Emma loves when she gets to sit at the adult table next to my dad.

Don't mind me in the background feeding Camden his "Easter Milks" as Miley keep calling it that that.

My mom had an Easter basket hidden for each family at her house and the girls had a great time finding it. She tried to take a picture of each family and the end of the night. You can tell that my kids had had more than enough fun by this point in the day.

I love holidays and this Easter was a great one. We are so thankful for the knowledge we have of the Savior and his atoning sacrifice for us so that we can one day live forever as a family.
