Katelyn is Three!

Our sweet, little, Katelyn finally turned three.  It is weird because, to me, it seems like she has been three forever because she really never acted much like a two year old.  But I am glad she is only three because that means she gets to be little for that much longer!  She has been counting down the days to her birthday forever so she was excited it was finally here!

Katelyn truly is one of the happiest little girls that I know.  She has so much enthusiasm for life.  Her excitement for everything is very contagious and it makes it hard for those around her not to be happy!

She really is just a tiny little thing so she surprises people a lot with how smart she is.  They don't expect the things that she says to come out of such a tiny little body.  Some of her favorite phrases to say are "whhhhhhhhhat", "what the devil", and any made up word that she can think of.  She loves to tease people and tell jokes.

She is either all or nothing.  A lot of times she can be pretty lazy because she just doesn't like to be told what to do.  But, when she decides that she wants to do something it can be hard to control her excitement.

She continues to be a major Daddy's girl.  She asks for him frequently during the day and can't wait for dinner time because she knows that is when he comes home.  She loves to be silly with him, and listen to his stories.

She is actually a really picky eater.  Not picky about the types of food that she eats as much as just eating in general.  She will go 4 or 5 days of hardly eating anything at all and then on the 6th day finally decide that she is hungry and eat anything that is in sight.  Unless we are talking about her eating sugar, she will always eat sugar.

She loves anything that has to do with Disney and thinks that she is a princess.  All she ever wants to listen to is Disney music and she is always pretending to be a princess.  Her current favorites are Ariel and Belle.  She also says that she loves Elsa but if you ask me I would say that she likes Anna more.

Katelyn is the greatest sister!  She loves Emma so much and they are best friends.  They spend all day every day in their own little world making up games and putting on all types of shows for us.  She is also a great big sister to Miley.  She is always helping her find a toy to play with, as long as it isn't some of her blocks, or giving her a book. 

She is very smart!  She loves to learn new things and just started going to preschool.  She takes the bus and couldn't be more thrilled about the fact that she is one of the big kids now!  She loves to play with the kids in the neighborhood that are older than her and is getting excited to be out of nursery and in primary.

 Katelyn's favorite toys right now are blocks.  She loves to build towers and she especially loves to make them for visitors that come to our house.  She also likes to color, play with play-dough, and do anything outside.  She is very adventurous and loves to try new things.

I love the one on one time that I get to spend with Katelyn while Emma is at school and Miley is taking a nap.  She loves to play barbies with me or play with her little figurines.  She always has quite the story made up in her head of what should be happening and doesn't like when I stray from her ideas.

Katelyn would wear one of two dresses all day every day if I let her.  She calls them her striped dress and her sparkly dress.  If I do manage to get her in pants or shorts instead of a dress or skirt she immediately has to put a dress up on over them.  If she ever has to take them off to go to the store or if her dress-ups have been taken away she stars crying and says "oh, now I am not beautiful!"

We have loved getting to know her more over this last year and watching her cute little personality develop!  She is such a sweet and loving little girl and we don't know what we would do without her! We really love you Katelyn!
